We are all really excited by the direction you have brought forward for Torquay United so far.
Tom A, Director at Torquay United
Before the brief, Torquay United’s brand was disjointed, with varying shades of yellow and blue. I was tasked with unifying the website and creating a future-proof, forward-thinking identity that aligned with the club’s ambitions of returning to the football league.
I refined the brand architecture into a visual identity system where the logo can be chosen based on usage. This allows key points like the playing badge and kits to change, while the core logo remains consistent.

The Torquay United badge underwent a profound transformation, evolving from the core ‘wings’ mark to a new design with a revised colour palette and a range of typefaces.
A custom logotype for the words ‘Torquay United’ was created using a variant of DIN and bespoke font drawing techniques. DIN was selected as the primary typeface for the brand due to its frequent appearance on Torquay United badges and branding over the years of internal marketing conducted by the National League South club.
The website underwent a significant evolution, transitioning into a fully responsive system that can be utilised by the internal team at Torquay United for all aspects of the club’s marketing and news.
We think that the new branding for Plainmoor looks great and feels integrally linked to the core identity for Torquay United.
Mark L, Director at Torquay United
Torquay United was founded in 1899. TUFC’s football stadium, Plainmoor, has been in use since 1921. To ensure the sustainability of the football club, Plainmoor had to become a hive of activity for hospitality, events and cultural significance, beyond it’s use even 5 years ago.
Eyebrowse was commissioned to create a new visual identity for the Plainmoor sub-brand which sits under the main Torquay United brand identity. Using matching angles and a different version of the DIN typeface, Plainmoor now has it’s own visual identity which can be used for football and non-football functions.
